DPhil Student

Linacre College

My background is in social and cultural anthropology, geography, and Asian studies, with a focus on Japan. After working with the Japanese education NPO, Ashinaga Ikueikai, as a programme coordinator for their Uganda branch, I became further interested in gender and sexuality studies, especially within the context of sexuality education. This professional experience inspired my current research project which investigates the intimate narratives of Japanese university students around themes of sexual consent and relationship practices.

I am also fascinated by folklore and storytelling traditions as well as the dynamics of human-nonhuman relationships in built environments like animal cafes.
