Jacinto Mathe is a nature and science enthusiast with a PhD in Biological Anthropology from the University of Oxford, an MSc in Forensic Anthropology from the University of Coimbra (Portugal), and a BSc in Veterinary Medicine from Eduardo Mondlane University (Mozambique). His research focuses on human evolution, osteology, taphonomy, and conservation palaeobiology, with particular emphasis on the African Rift Valley. Using osteological datasets from heterogeneous landscapes in Gorongosa National Park, Mozambique, his work links between modern landscapes and the African fossil record.
