This workshop will explore the multifaceted dimensions of food in the digital age, by focusing on how digital media and technologies reshape familiar food spaces from private kitchens to canteens, and from supermarkets to restaurants. Issues examined will include how robotics and digital interfaces mediate food consumption in restaurants, how artificial intelligence is used to discover new recipes for food products, and how extended reality is employed to study the future of food. The broader implications of these developments will be considered, with the aim of understanding how familiar food spaces are shapeshifting in digital times.
