Regulating the Flow: Menstruation, Self Care and Traditional Medicine in China
My primary research interest concerns menstrual pain management through Chinese medical interventions. A traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) framework influences how people experience menstrual pain phenomenologically and talk about it in the public sphere. However, I am not merely interested in whether and if, in which regards, treatment is experienced as effective, but also in how gender, care and citizenship is negotiated in contemporary China.
