Patrick Savage

Dr Patrick Savage is a Postdoctoral Researcher in Statistical Data Analysis. He earned his PhD in Musicology from the Tokyo University of the Arts (2017) and also holds an MSc in Psychology, Neuroscience & Behaviour from McMaster University (2011). In 2017, Patrick became the fifth non-Japanese to receive the Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science Ikushi Prize, awarded by the Emperor to 17 doctoral students throughout Japan. Patrick is currently working with the Seshat – Global History Databank to explore the role of ritual and religion in the evolution of social complexity. This work is supervised by Prof Harvey Whitehouse and Dr Pieter Francois within the framework of ALIGNED - Quality-centric Software and Data Engineering, funded by the European Union under the Horizon 2020 scheme.
