We are seeking an experienced PA and research administrator to provide support to Professor Harvey Whitehouse and his portfolio of research projects. This full-time role is offered on a permanent basis at the School of Anthropology and Museum Ethnography, Banbury Road, Oxford.
You will work closely with other members of the School’s administrative team to respond rapidly to a large variety of tasks necessary to support a busy research environment. Duties include organising complex international travel arrangements, events, meetings and conferences, and maintaining websites. You will provide administrative support for several large concurrent research projects ensuring activity conforms with the funder’s terms and conditions and monitoring progress against budget using Oracle Financials. You will also assist in the production and submission of new research grant applications.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their ability to provide efficient and effective high-level administrative support and have significant experience of managing the busy office of a senior member of staff. We are looking for the ability to work independently on a wide variety of tasks simultaneously, often with tight deadlines, and to develop projects with minimal supervision; someone with excellent organisational, interpersonal and time management skills. You will be numerate, confident in the administration of finances and used to working confidentially and with accuracy. Prior experience of managing research projects would be desirable.
