The Institute for Science, Innovation and Society seeks to employee an Institute Manager on a full-time basis (part-time hours and flexible hours will be considered). We offer a fixed-term contract until 30 September 2020.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective administrative and financial management of the Institute working closely with the School’s Deputy Administrator (Finance and Research). Financial management includes, finance processing, reporting, and preparation of budgets for applications for research funding. The postholder is accountable to the Head of Administration for all aspects of the finances and administration of the Institute and will provide administrative support to the Institute Director, to whom the postholder will also report. The postholder is expected to have/to develop expertise in research funding in order to assist, advise and support Institute academic staff.
To be considered for this role you will have a good level of education as well as experience in higher education administration, or similar, and experience of finance administration. You will have excellent communication skills, the ability to act as an independent self-starter, an organised approach with attention to detail and IT competence.
