The School of Anthropology and Museum Ethnography (SAME), seek to appoint an inspirational teacher and accomplished research scholar to an Associate Professorship in Medical and Biological Anthropology, in association with a non-tutorial Fellowship by Special Election at St Catherine’s College. Applications are welcomed from outstanding candidates with teaching experience and a strong research background. The postholder’s research and teaching must engage with the interactive ways in which culture, behaviour and environment influence human biology.
The postholder will provide teaching and supervision at both undergraduate and graduate level. In particular they should be prepared to work closely with colleagues as a core part of the Medical Anthropology teaching team. In addition to their responsibilities to graduate Medical Anthropology teaching and administration, they will also make a substantial contribution to the BA Human Sciences degree programme, leading the teaching on a core module (currently Human Ecology).
The appointee will be a non-tutorial Fellowship by Special Election at St Catherine’s College. Appointments to Associate Professorships are confirmed as permanent on successful completion of a review during the first 5 years. Any offer made will be subject to pre-employment checks.
