We are sorry to announce the death of Barbara Harrell-Bond OBE on 30th July 2018. She did her MLitt (1967) on Blackbird Leys housing estate and her DPhil on marriage in Sierra Leone (1972), both in ISCA. She went on to work with refugees in Algeria and Sudan, and eventually to found Oxford's Refugee Studies Centre. An obituary has appeared in the Guardian.
